PROJECTS

PHONE MENTORING

Mentors encourage and assist students who are in grades 6 through to 12. A pilot trial has commenced in Tasmania in term 4 2013.

MENTOR ROLES

Younger students can benefit from basic literacy and numeracy assistance from mentors.

For more complex assistance, tutors can be sourced as required

MENTORS

Preference is given to Aboriginal mentors, however any person who has had a career or business and life experience is welcome to be involved as a mentor or tutor.

We already have demand for more mentors. Do consider volunteering or call or email your questions.

SAFETY

Protection of children is top priority. Mentors are required to obtain a national police check and to have completed Child Safe training

CO-ORDINATION

Mentors and students will arrange mutually convenient telephone contact routines.

Mentors advise the co-ordinator of each contact and any special issues arising.
