Mentors will be re-imbursed the cost of phone calls.
PROJECTS
PHONE MENTORING
Mentors encourage and assist students who are in grades 6 through to 12. A pilot trial has commenced in Tasmania in term 4 2013.
MENTOR ROLES
Younger students can benefit from basic literacy and numeracy assistance from mentors.
For more complex assistance, tutors can be sourced as required
MENTORS
Preference is given to Aboriginal mentors, however any person who has had a career or business and life experience is welcome to be involved as a mentor or tutor.
We already have demand for more mentors. Do consider volunteering or call or email your questions.
SAFETY
Protection of children is top priority. Mentors are required to obtain a national police check and to have completed Child Safe training
CO-ORDINATION
Mentors and students will arrange mutually convenient telephone contact routines.
Mentors advise the co-ordinator of each contact and any special issues arising.
