SAFETY

 

SAFETY  Is of paramount importance for the student and for the mentor. It is important for all contact with the

student to be recorded and a database will be available on the web site  for mentors to keep records up to date.
Part of the safety structure of the project is that it is telephone based so that physical contact with students is

unusual. If it is necessary to meet with a student for tutoring assistance or some such, then please contact the

co-ordinator and advise the proposed meeting beforehand. If meetings do take place then they should be in the

presence of parent/s or carers and open to scrutiny by onlookers. If in the absence of parent/s then a public place

which is open to scrutiny must be used. Meetings without open scrutiny are not acceptable.

CONTACTS

All contacts with students need to be recorded. Mentors can keep contact records up to date on a database which will be attached to this web site. date and length of call should be recorded. Any unusual issues which occur during a mentoring session should be reported to the coordinator so that appropriate action can be taken.
